Help for Visitors Attending an Event at MMOC

If you have a question or need that is not answered here, please call the parish office (608.788.5483).

How do I get there?

If you are driving, click here to find MMOC on Google Maps. La Crosse Municipal Airport (LSE) is served by Delta and American Airlines. Car rentals are available with Avis, Hertz, National, and Alamo.  There are many fine hotels and motels and restaurants in the La Crosse area.  Explore La Crosse is also a good resource for visitors.

Is MMOC accessible?

Our best parking for those with mobility concerns is in the parking lot on the northeast corner of the campus; enter from Weston Street and exit onto 21st Street. Several handicap-only parking spaces are just a few feet away from the church door. Inside the Weston Street entry there two reserved pews with extra room for wheelchairs and equipment. Restrooms are near the main entry at the east end of the church.  Both restrooms are accessible and both have changing tables.

Another option for handicap parking is at our west entrance into the parish hall. All restrooms are accessible and there is a ramp for wheelchair access to the sanctuary.

Our Religious Education classrooms and choir practice room are on the lower level of the parish hall. For wheelchair access, we suggest parking in the west lot. An elevator to the lower level is at the east end of the parish hall.

Will there be child care?

MMOC does not provide child care during services. However, our church does have a nice "Cry Room", with an attached women's restroom and changing table. (The men's restroom, on the other side of the church, also has a changing table.)  This room contains a large collection of children's books to help occupy the children. You can see through the safety glass into the church proper and the sound system enables you to hear the celebrant and musicians.

I'm not Catholic.  Is it okay for me to attend Mass?

Yes, you are very welcome to attend Mass.  While others come forward to receive Holy Communion, we invite you to receive a blessing. Please come forward with your arms crossed in the shape of an "X" with hands on your shoulders, and you will receive a blessing. If you don't feel comfortable with that option, you are welcome to remain in your seat.

What if there is an emergency?

If a problem arises or someone becomes ill during the service, please summon one of the Greeters. An AED (automatic defibrillator) is located in the main entry; there is another one just outside the bathrooms in the parish hall.  Two hospitals and a fire station are very close to MMOC.

What about people with a hearing impairment?

MMOC supports a variety of hearing equipment. This flowchart may help you decide what's best for you. Please contact a Greeter for assistance.
