Parish Events
Parish Events
"They ate their meals with exultation and sincerity of heart, praising God and enjoying favor with all the people" (Acts 2:46-47).
Mary, Mother of the Church comes together as a loving family during parish events. All are welcome to these opportunities to deepen relationship while raising funds for the parish. You can learn more about upcoming parish events as well as volunteer needs in our bulletin or by contacting the parish office.
Monthly Social
On the first Thursday of each month, parishioners are invited to attend the Parish Social after the 7:30am daily Mass. Coffee, treats and conversation are shared as we deepen our connections with each other.
Silver Circle Luncheons
At different times over the year, senior parishioners are invited to Silver Circle luncheons. During these luncheons, attendees enjoy a meal, fellowship, and information on different topics that are relevant to senior living.
Chicken Q
About Our Chicken Q
Twice each year, on the second Thursday in May and September, the MMOC parish family works together to hold a chicken que. Each provides a full meal of a grilled half-chicken, baked potato, beans, cole slaw and dinner roll at a reasonable price. All are invited to purchase tickets at the parish office, after Masses, or at the Chicken Q (if they aren't sold out!)
The parish has been offering this for many years, and has streamlined the many processes, including the drive-thru pickup, all with a fun fellowship in the work.
Fish Fry
MMOC offers fish fries two times annually during Lent. All are welcome to enjoy this meal with us at a reasonable cost. There are dine-in or take-out options available. Dinners come in 2 or 3 pieces of baked or fried cod served with coleslaw, baked potato or fries, and a roll. Kid's meals are also available.
Cookie Walk
PCCW, our parish women's club, collaborates with many talented members of our parish to hold our annual Cookie Walk! This is a special time to visit with and welcome parishioners, neighbors and visitors from around the community. Normally held on the second Saturday in December, the PCCW offers a variety of items including Christmas cookies, breads, candies, pies, and craft items. Visitors are invited to enter to win raffle baskets and enjoy delicious breakfast and lunch items. This event is popular, and full of holiday cheer. Cookie Walkers who arrive early have the best chance of getting their favorites as things sell out quickly!
Rummage Sale
About Our Rummage Sale
Each spring, the parish women's club collects donations of items, and then offers them for sale at our annual rummage sale. There is always a great selection to choose from and special bag sales toward the end of the event.
